Much like carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning is an important process helping to keep your home looking and feeling fresh and clean. Also like carpet cleaning, it is recommended to have your upholstery cleaned every 6-12 months as your upholstery is a household item that is used every day.

What is upholstery?

Upholstery is the material used to stuff and cover your sofas, armchairs, puffee and other covered furniture.

Upholstery is used every day, whether it’s in the morning to support the ‘putting shoe on’ process, or the collapsing after work, the pets unofficial bed or the safety zone from the floor being lava… your upholstery takes a lot of beating and accumulates a lot of germs, dirt and nasty stuff that you don’t realise is hiding in there.

Cleaning your upholstery isn’t just getting rid of the bad stuff in there but it is also doing the following:

  • Improving the appearance of your furniture – The main reason (other than to clean it) that people invest into having their upholstery cleaned is to maintain the appearance of their furniture. It will help keep your furniture looking nicer for a longer period of time – which is important whether your home is new, or your home is your pride and joy. No one wants to have furniture that looks old and worn out from everyday dirt and grime that has built up on there – but with regular cleaning, you can easily prevent this and keep your furniture looking clean and fresh and as good as new.
  • To extend the life of your furniture – Although I’m sure we would all like to, most of us don’t have the money to replace our furniture every year. Cleaning your upholstery regularly will prevent you from having to buying new furniture once it begins to wear out.

Cleaning your upholstery regularly will ensure you’re maintaining your upholstery in a  state where the upholstery looks fresh and new, and all of those thoughts and stresses about buying a new set of furniture can all be put to rest after having your upholstery cleaned regularly.

  • Your family’s health – Whether you’re living with family or sharing a home your upholstery is a communal place for everyone to enjoy. Yes, uncleaned upholstery can have an implication on yours and your families health. The bacteria that is collected can get embedded into the upholstery causing health problems – including chesty coughs, snoring, colds etc. Cleaning your furniture can help get rid of the bacteria.
  • Good air quality – Most people don’t recognise that regularly cleaning your upholstery can increase good air quality throughout your home. Problems that cleaning will get rid of include bacteria, a germ that pollutes the air in your home such as, mold, dust, mildew and any other allergens.
Bad air quality can cause harm to your breathing and increase breathing problems to you or anyone in your family- to prevent this clean your upholstery and have a cleaner, fresher home.

Having a clean, fresh, healthy home is what we try and give to our customers and what we feel is best for them, not only for health reasons but for a good, positive attitude as well, we want you to feel pleased with your home.
